Peter R. Tochman is a 1986 graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication. While earning his degree, he was a member of the university's debate team, representing the university in numerous tournaments throughout the United States. During this time, he was also inducted into the Delta Sigma Rho-tau Kappa Alpha National Forensics Honor Society.
Mr. Tochman subsequently earned his law degree in 1989 from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. He was a member of the Student Trial Advocacy Program while working towards his degree, competing in mock trial tournaments against students from other law schools.
Since graduation, Mr. Tochman has represented clients in a variety of matters, including wills, trusts, power of attorney, probate, conservatorships and guardianships, estate and Medicaid planning, divorce and domestic relations, including custody and support matters, purchasing and selling real estate, as well as real estate litigation, personal injury and insurance law, criminal and traffic matters, business matters, contracts, collections and general civil litigation. He has appeared in most district and circuit courts in Southeast Michigan, worker disability compensation magistrates, private arbitration and mediation panels, as well as the Michigan Court of Appeals. He serves as a civil case evaluator in Wayne and Oakland counties.
